Concerning the development of self-reflection and self-regulation in role-playing Abstract: The article introduces the concept of the Role-Atom. The Role-Atom enables one to portray psychodramatic and psychological roles of a person as a representation of inner dynamic and to bring it to life on stage in psychodramatic action. The methodology leans on the concepts of the “social” as well as the “cultural” atom. The Role-Atom can be employed in multiple ways; i.e., for progressive role development, diagnostic, identity clarification, personal development, evaluation of psychodramatic work within a group and to practice psychodramatic diagnostic
as part of the psychodrama training course. While the concept is simple, it has a deep effect on individuals as well as groups.
